Dr. Hawkins is a licensed psychologist who received her Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education (1982) and her Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology (1983) from Texas A & M University. She obtained her Doctor of Philosophy degree in School Psychology with a minor in Family Psychology from Texas Woman’s University (1990). She has worked in university settings, mental health clinics, and child guidance centers. At present, she maintains a private practice in Houston, Texas where she specializes in child, adolescent, and family therapy. Dr. Hawkins has provided workshops at local, state, and national conferences. In addition, she frequently offers parenting classes, informational seminars, and in-service training for various universities, organizations, schools, and churches. Dr. Hawkins also has served as a consultant in the development of children’s Sunday School curriculum for Cokesbury, the United Methodist Publishing House in Nashville, Tennessee.
